Taylor Johnson – WFSC Learn to Skate Director & Private Lesson Coach

My name is Taylor M Johnson and I am a native of Fergus Falls, MN.  I attended Fergus Falls, MN Community College and graduated with a BA in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Development form North Dakota State University.

I grew up on figure skates as I started skating at the age of 4 and have never stopped skating.  My life has been focused on figure skating and making a career out of it.

Some of my greatest accomplishments as a figure skater have been touring with the Nutcracker on Ice Processional Show Tour.  I was also the Guest Skater for the Christmas Show that was sponsored by the Mexican Government in Guadalajara, MX.  During my skating career, I was also the guest skater for several Club Annual Shows including Alexandria, MN, Detroit Lakes, MN, and Wahpeton, ND.

Currently I am tested as a Pre-Gold Movies in the Field, Pre-Gold Freeskate, Pre-Sliver Dance, and 1st Figure Figures.  I continue to test in Dance.

I have several coaching certifications including Learn to Skate USA Certified Coach and a PSA Registered Group Lesson Instructor, and I am Master Rated in Sports Science & Medicine through PSA.  I am also a member of USFS, Professional Skaters Association, and Hockey USA.

I serve as the Learn to Skate Director with the Watertown Figure Skate Club where I also am the Director of the Annual Expo Show and Power and Synchro Coach.  I also assist with WFSC’s Basic Skills Competition.  As an instructor, I work one-on-one in a private setting with skaters specializing in moves in the field, freeskate, solo free dance, power, and overall enhancement of skills. I have coached multiple skaters through the Gold level in the MIF and solo free dance disciplines.  I have been camp Director in Watertown, Yankton, and Brookings Figure Skate Club.  Prior to WFSC, I was the Assistant Head Coach, Private Coach, and Ice Show Director for the West Fargo, ND Park and Rec Figure Skate Program.  I’ve also coached at Fargo/Moorhead Park and Rec Skate Program, Program Director at Wahpeton, ND Figure Skate Club and Detroit Lakes, MN Skate Club.  I began my career at the Fergus Falls, MN Figure Skate Club as a Learn to Skate and Synchro Coach as well as their Ice Show Coordinator.

To further my coaching education, I have attended several educational workshops and seminars including attending the PSA Conference and Tradeshow in 2018.

Shawnna Singrey - WFSC Learn to Skate & Private Ice Dance Coach

Hi!  My name is Shawnna Singrey and I have been coaching for the WFSC for the past decade!  I was a substitute instructor for WFSC during the 2014-2015 season and have been a regular coach ever since.  I enjoy working with the skaters very much and love being a part of their skating journey!  When I’m not at the rink I can be found at my full time job at Target.

I have completed my US Figure Skating Coach’s Core Certification and I’m a member of US Figure Skating Coach I.C.E. (Inspiring Coaching Excellence), enabling me to continue growing as a coach through continuing education.  My previous coaching experience includes being a volunteer instructor for WFSC when I was a teenager “way back when”.  I also was a skating instructor for the Brookings Park & Rec for 1 season, followed by 3 years for the Huron Park & Rec where I also co-directed (1 yr.) and directed (2 yrs.) their ice show.

I got my start to skating on roller skates at age 2, and ice skating at age 6.  I have been skating ever since!  I grew up skating in Watertown at the old ice arena and was there when the WFSC was first formed.  I have so many good memories of performing in the Lion’s Ice Show through the years as a kid!  Training opportunities in South Dakota were very limited back then, so I traveled to Jamestown, ND for several years for lessons.  It was in Jamestown that I first had the opportunity to learn Pattern Ice Dancing, for which I have developed a passion for teaching and introducing WFSC skaters to the joy of ice dance.

My skating accomplishments include passing my Bronze (formerly Juvenile) Freeskate, Pre-Silver (formerly Intermediate) MITF/Skating Skills, Pre-Silver Dance (standard track), Silver Tango (standard track), Silver Dance (adult track), and 2 Pre-Gold dances (adult track).  I still continue to skate and practice as much as I can, working towards future tests.  I love skating, so I continue to skate.  If skating brings you joy, I encourage skaters to skate no matter their age!

Audrey Mack - WFSC Learn to Skate & Private Lesson Coach

I am Audrey Mack. I have been skating for nine years and have been a member of WFSC for eight years. In March 2025, I passed my Senior (Gold) Skating Skills Test (previously Moves in the Field). I have completed the Learn To Skate USA coach certification course. Before coaching, I was an apprentice with WFSC for the Learn to Skate program for three years.

Figure skating has always been a big part of my life. Growing up on the ice, I looked up to the older girls at higher levels—their determination and discipline inspired me the most. Now, I want to pass that inspiration on and show younger skaters what it takes to be consistent and dedicated on the ice.I enjoy going to skating competitions. I have been competing for 7 years. I have attended many camps, such as the Road to Gold Training camp and our own WFSC camps. Going to camps and competing has helped me improve over the years. And has shown me the importance of coaching and guidance.

I have done many sports growing up, including volleyball and wrestling, and have decided to put all my time and effort into figure skating. My family loves to run, and I have accomplished 2 half marathons and multiple 5ks and a 10k. During school, I serve and cook for a restaurant in Kranzburg, and during the summer, I babysit. I enjoy being around people, and I look forward to sharing my love of skating with my students.
